My Diigo Post

I chose this website because I looked through it and felt like it had a lot to offer. There is help with lesson plans as well as links to different interactive technology to use for activities, paper writing, etc. http://www.education-world.com/

TeacherTube

The first video I watched was Classroom Rules. It had a cop rapping school rules. The first 30 seconds of it were playing music from "Ice Ice Baby" but after that there was no music. I'm sure 30 seconds is less than 10% of the song, so that makes it ok. Also even though it was something funny, it wasn't making fun of the song at all so I don't think it diminishes the value of anything. http://www.teachertube.com/viewVideo.php?video_id=4423&title=Classroom_Rules
The second video I watched was called Crank that GMS. It used the instrumentals from another rap song called "Crank That" by Soulja Boy. Although at the end they gave credit to where the song came from, they used the entire music from beginning to end. I don't think that's allowed and I feel certain they didn't have permission.

I already have twitter so I just went ahead and added that to my page. I joined linkedin and diigo. For some reason I couldn't get either of them to show up on my page, though. On Google reader I found some sites with great free technology. I also subscribed to 3 pages that have articles on education. The best thing I learned about today was the education section online at the HBLL. But again, it also didn't work when I tried to add it. I did add one amazing website to our Diigo page.

About Me

My name is Kara Lewis. I'm a history teaching major. I got married at the end of March. On my birthday, the week before school started, I broke 2 of my fingers. Last week I got surgery, so I've already missed 3 days of school and I'm very behind. Ugh!
